Baileys Harbor lifeboat station captain, Reinhard Hickey built this charming home in the early 1900’s to accommodate his growing family. Captain Hickey’s home graces an acre of old apple orchard directly across the street from the Blacksmith Inn. Beach access and views of the harbor through the Blacksmith Inn grounds, yet complete privacy, make this home the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway or a family gathering.
A couple will feel pampered in the suite of ground floor rooms. Enter from the wide front porch, replete with porch swing, into the warmth of the “front room”. A cast iron fireplace, original maple floors and vintage furnishings surround you. Pass through the elegant pocket doors to the “parlor”, now master bedroom, boasting a king size four poster bed with canopy and a view of the front room fireplace.
A master bath adjoins with a second fireplace and a double whirlpool bath. A charming kitchen with all the conveniences allows you the flexibility to dine in or stroll to any number of nearby restaurants.
If your getaway includes family or friends, the second floor is available with three additional bedrooms (one queen, one full and one with two twin beds), two complete bathrooms and a laundry room for a maximum of six additional guests, children or adults. |

The Orchard House has central air and heat, telephone, wireless internet, completely equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, television and dvd/cd in both master bedroom and living room and includes linens and towels. Bikes and kayaks are available through the inn at no charge. Daily housekeeping is provided. The Orchard House is available for a minimum of three or four night stays. The ground floor suite of rooms is available at $255 per night Monday-Thursday/$275 per night Friday-Sunday or $1730 per week. The entire house is available at $395 per night Monday-Thursday/$425 per night Friday-Sunday or $2675 per week.
$500 will be charged to your credit card as a deposit at the time your reservation is made. Deposits will be refunded for reservations canceled at least 28 days in advance of arrival, less a $25 cancellation fee. Deposits will be refunded with less than 28 days notice if we are able to rerent the house, less the cancellation fee. The deposit may be forfeited if guests arrive after the date specified or depart before the final date of reservation, unless the house is rerented. Smoking and pets are not allowed. Breakfast is not available to Orchard House guests.
