The Blacksmith Inn On The Shore Policies
RATES
Rates are per night, double occupancy; less ten dollars single occupancy.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in after 3:30 p.m. and check-out by 11 a.m. If you will be checking in after 9 p.m., please advise us so we may make arrangements for a late arrival.
MINIMUM STAYS
We are currently requiring a three-night minimum stay during our high season. Many weekends during our ‘tween Season and Quiet Season require a two-night stay as well as New Year’s Eve.
DEPOSITS
A one-night deposit is charged to your credit card when a reservation is placed.
CANCELLATIONS
Deposits will be refunded, less a $50 cancellation fee, for reservations cancelled more than 14 days prior to arrival; OR you may choose to have the full amount of your deposit converted to a gift certificate to be used toward a future stay. Deposits for cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will be converted to a gift certificate to be used toward a future stay.
TAXES, GRATUITIES, & CREDIT CARDS
All rates are subject to 13.5% state and local taxes. Gratuities for the housekeepers are left to each guest’s discretion. Payment may be made with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
SMOKING
The inn, balconies, and grounds are smoke-free. Smokers are asked to confine smoking to the parking lot.
CHILDREN, GROUPS, & PETS
In order to preserve a restful environment for all guests of the inn, groups are restricted to no more than 2 of the inn’s total 15 guestrooms. Likewise, we do not book group events or weddings, nor do we allow children, including infants. Guests must be 18 years of age or older. We do not allow pets.
Orchard House Policies
RATES
Rates for Orchard House are per night, a maximum of 8 (including children). Events with additional guests on the property are not allowed.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in after 3:30 p.m. and check-out by 11 a.m. If you will be checking in after 9 p.m., please advise us so we may make arrangements for a late arrival.
MINIMUM STAYS
The house may be rented for a 2-night minimum stay, the exception being a 4-night minimum Memorial Day weekend through October and 5 nights over the 4th of July.
DEPOSIT
50% of the total charges will be charged as a deposit at the time your reservation is placed. Balance of rental fee is due 60 days prior to arrival as well as a $500 security deposit. The security deposit shall be refunded within 7 days of departure subject to the condition of the house.
CANCELLATIONS
Deposits will be refunded for reservations cancelled at least 60 days in advance of arrival. The rental fee will be forfeited for reservations cancelled within 60 days if we are unable to rebook the house or for guests arriving after the reserved arrival date or departing before the reserved departure date. We strictly adhere to the cancellation policy regardless of the reason for cancellation. If you feel you may need to cancel for any reason, we strongly advise trip cancellation insurance.

The Orchard House is smoke free. Campfires and fireworks are not allowed. Violation of this policy will result in the loss of the deposit.

Children are welcome in the Orchard House. Cribs, high chairs, etc. are not provided. Pets are not allowed.
RENTAL MANAGER
The Orchard House is not owned by the Blacksmith Inn on the Shore. The inn manages this rental property for the owner. The grounds, buildings, and amenities of the inn are not available to Orchard House guests.

What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in starts at 3:30 p.m., and check-out is 11:00 a.m. While we cannot guarantee any requests for early check-in, it never hurts to ask. Give us a call on the day of your arrival, and we'll do our best to get you in.
Do you allow pets?
We do not allow pets at the Blacksmith Inn on the Shore.
Do you allow children?
We do not accommodate guests under the age of eighteen, including infants.
Do you allow groups, room blocks, or events?

Please understand that we are primarily a quiet, romantic getaway for couples, and we've found over the years that these policies are critical to cultivating that atmosphere.

The inn provides complimentary WiFi to all guests.
Do you have parking?
Free parking is available for all guests, although trailer parking must be arranged elsewhere. The parking lot is equipped with four Level 2 EV chargers.
Do you provide breakfast?
A complimentary, fresh baked breakfast is delivered right to your door each morning at a time of your choosing.
What is your cancellation policy?

Do you have rental equipment available?
The inn provides complimentary, seasonal access to bikes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, sleds, and snowshoes. No reservations are necessary, equipment is distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
Are you open all year?
The inn is open year round, although we do shut down for a few days around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What amenities do the rooms have?
Each room provides a water view, private balcony with chairs and side table, gas fireplace, whirlpool tub, private bathroom and shower, robes, air conditioning, birding binoculars and identification book, television, minifridge, WiFi, coffeemaker, ironing board/iron, and a hairdryer. Rooms 6-15 have hammocks on their private balconies.
